Job summary

Kennedy Jenks in California is seeking an experienced Pipeline Engineer to support water and wastewater conveyance projects. This role involves evaluation, design, and construction of pipelines, with opportunities to serve as a technical resource on multidisciplinary teams.

Candidates should have a Civil/Environmental/Mechanical background, 10+ years in pipeline engineering, and a California PE license or ability to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 10+ years of pipeline engineering experience including design, analysis and construction support.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations for water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer license in California required or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Experience with pipeline design software and hydraulic modeling tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic and pipe design calculations for water and wastewater pipelines.
• Prepare designs, specifications, and drawings for pipeline projects including alignments and analyses.
• Apply industry standards and regulatory requirements to guide design and installation.
• Provide construction-phase engineering support and respond to RFIs.
• Evaluate existing pipelines and recommend rehabilitation or replacement approaches.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support junior staff and project documentation.
