Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Pharmacy Access Rep III to manage medication coordination and remove barriers to patient access. Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Medical, Secretarial, or related field and 4 years of relevant experience required.
• ASHP-accredited training program or equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
• Certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program (Currently PTCB) and maintain ongoing education requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages medication coordination and removal of barriers that prevent patients from receiving medications.
• Communicates with prescriber’s office to acquire information to submit prescriptions to insurance for prior authorization.
• Enrolls patients in patient assistance programs (PAP) and arranges timely delivery of medications.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on PAPs, grants, foundations, coupons, and social work resources.
• Coordinates with pharmacy staff to ensure timely delivery and resolves insurance issues to prevent interruptions in treatment.
• Follows up with patients to ensure safe and effective medication use and documents problems with medication delivery or adherence.
• Triages patient calls and provides excellent customer service through the Pharmacy Call Center.
• Monitors and reconciles patient charge accounts monthly and supports prescription audits.
