Job summary

The University of Rochester Medicine seeks a Pharmacy Access Representative III to oversee medical equipment access, insurance verification, and payments coordination. You will liaise with prescribers, insurers, and patients to secure timely equipment delivery and accurate coverage information.

Responsibilities include prior authorization management, patient cost communication, and coordination across pharmacy staff and external payors in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Associate’s degree in a Medical, Secretarial, or related field and 4 years of relevant experience required.
• Pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) preferred / ASHP-trained program completed.

Responsibilities

• Manage Home Medical Equipment referrals, insure delivery and timeliness.
• Coordinate with discharge, DME staff, and providers for coverage requirements.
• Verify insurance, determine patient out-of-pocket costs, and assist with prior authorizations.
