Virginia Farm Bureau in Richmond, VA, seeks a Personal Lines Underwriter to join our underwriting team. Based out of the West Creek Office, the role offers a hybrid schedule with in-office training and ongoing collaboration with agents.

Responsibilities include evaluating applications with MVR/CLUE/inspections, monitoring accounts, communicating decisions to agents, and traveling within Virginia as needed. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus 3 years P&C experience, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of Property & Casualty experience.
• Insurance coursework or designations are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Accept, modify or reject applications submitted by our agency using reports (MVR, CLUE, inspections).
• Evaluate/monitor existing accounts for continued acceptability.
• Review change requests and obtain needed documentation.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly with agents.
• Cultivate relationships with agents through education and service.
• Collaborate with Policy Services, Claims, Management and other departments.
