Job summary

Southeastern-Retina-Associates is seeking a Customer Service/Copay Assistant Representative in Knoxville, TN to handle patient billing inquiries and process payments. The role requires verifying demographics and insurance information and maintaining accurate records.

The position is full-time with a hybrid schedule (two days in office, three days remote) and standard business hours. Previous experience in a medical office and proficiency with MS Office and billing systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of work experience in a similar position, preferably in a medical office.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones timely and in a prompt, professional and polite manner.
• Handle inquiries about insurance, office hours, services, locations or self-pay fees, physician information, etc.
• Process patient credit/debit card payments.
• Document all calls to patient accounts.
• Update and verify patient insurance information.
• Review patient account and explain charges and balance clearly and precisely.
• Collect outstanding balances.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
