Job summary

Southeastern Retina Associates (SERA) seeks a motivated Billing Clerk to support the revenue cycle in our East Tennessee office. You will post payments, prepare deposits, handle correspondence, and assist with patient billing queries to ensure accurate, timely processing.

Ideal candidates bring a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years in a medical office with knowledge of reimbursement and coding. You will work with MS Office and EHR systems in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Two years’ experience in a medical office with knowledge of medical reimbursement and coding. Required.

Responsibilities

• Post payments from Lockbox, remittances, and mail payments.
• Prepare daily deposit for checks.
• Post correspondence.
• Identify and route incorrectly processed claims/payments.
• Answer incoming calls from patients, front desk, and clinical staff to resolve issues.
• Process patient credit card payments by phone.
• Post unapplied credits to patient accounts.
