Job summary

Haley Stuart Group is seeking an experienced Patent Litigation Legal Assistant to join our Northern New Jersey team in a hybrid role. You will support senior attorneys through all phases of patent litigation, draft and format pleadings, manage case files, and coordinate trial preparation in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 5+ years of patent litigation experience, proficiency in MS Office and legal systems, and familiarity with e-filing and USPTO processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of patent litigation experience in a law firm.
• Proficiency with litigation procedures and court filings.
• Experience with document formatting tools (Litera, CompareDocs, Best Authority).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal systems (iManage, Intapp).
• Notary Public or willing to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys through all phases of patent litigation and trial preparation.
• 2
• Draft, edit, and format legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Perform court filings (federal, state, bankruptcy) via e-filing systems.
• Manage and organize case files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Create Tables of Authorities and Contents, hyperlink briefs, and prepare PDFs.
• Coordinate trial preparation including exhibits, binders, and logistics.
• Monitor dockets and track deadlines; proactively communicate updates to attorneys.
• Assist with USPTO-related processes, including prior art and disclosures.
• Conduct legal and non-legal research.
• Handle administrative tasks including calendar management, billing entry, and expense reports.
