Job summary

Columbia College is seeking a Professional Tutor to provide individualized tutoring in STEM disciplines and/or writing at the Stafford Learning Commons. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with part-time staff responsibilities and a pay rate of $15.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group tutoring in STEM and/or writing.
• Assess student needs and tailor tutoring strategies accordingly.
• Explain complex concepts clearly to foster understanding and critical thinking.
• Help students develop study habits, time management, and confidence.
• Support students with writing processes, including brainstorming and editing.
• Maintain tutoring records and communicate scheduling details.
