Job summary

LAC Federal seeks a part-time Reference Librarian to join our team in a hybrid role requiring on-site presence 1-2 days per week in Washington, DC. A Master’s degree in Library/Information Science or active enrollment is preferred.

Responsibilities include providing reference and research services, participating in collection development, and collaborating on internal projects. Experience with databases such as EBSCO, Web of Science, Scopus, Nexis and Westlaw is desirable; strong communication

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution or enrollment in such a program.
At least 2 years of experience providing reference and research services in a special or federal library.

Responsibilities

Provide reference services to patrons, including research assistance and literature reviews.
Reference Desk Coverage: in-person and remote reference during designated hours.
Participate in collection development: selecting and weeding materials and evaluating resources.
Collaborate on projects such as bibliometrics research and internal website content.
Conduct literature searches and respond to complex reference inquiries.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the project manager.
