Job summary

LAC-Federal is seeking a Librarian to provide comprehensive reference, research, and instructional services within the Information Center. The role includes circulation duties, collection management, and support for electronic resources while ensuring copyright compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science is required.
• MLS from an ALA-accredited program strongly preferred.
• Minimum of four years in information centers or library programs.
• Knowledge of library science theory, collection development, cataloging, reference, and serials management.
• Familiarity with copyright law, clearance processes, and digital resources.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference, research, evaluative, and instructional services.
• Manage circulation activities including registering patrons and training staff.
• Maintain and evaluate print, media, and serials collections with emphasis on electronic resources.
• Advise patrons on copyright requirements.
• Open and close the Information Center as required.
• Provide instruction to students and staff on use of library resources.
• Maintain Information Center web presence and web-based resources.
