LAC Federal is seeking an experienced Librarian to provide professional library, research, reference, collection management, and technical services for a federal government customer in the Northern Virginia area. The Librarian will work on-site in a highly secure environment, supporting government personnel with access to authoritative print and electronic information resources.

Qualifications

• Requires MLIS/MLS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Active TS/SCI or SECRET clearance preferred.
• Experience in professional library services in govt/academic settings.
• Strong research, reference and information-delivery capabilities.
• Knowledge of cataloging/metadata, circulation, and electronic-resource support.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional reference and research services for government personnel.
• Support circulation, patron services, interlibrary loan and document delivery.
• Conduct literature/database searches using authoritative resources.
• Assist users in locating and evaluating print, electronic, and digital resources.
• Manage collection development, cataloging, metadata, and materials maintenance.
• Administer electronic resources and research databases; support library platforms.
• Develop research guides, bibliographies and SOPs for knowledge management.
• Provide instruction on resources, databases and information-literacy practices.
• Track usage, workload and service metrics and report findings.
• Participate in collection inventories and special projects to improve discoverability.
• Ensure compliance with security requirements and records-management practices.
• Assist users with access issues for electronic resources.
