Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking a part-time Reference Librarian to join our library team in a hybrid role requiring on-site presence 1–2 days weekly. Responsibilities include reference desk coverage, research assistance, and participation in collection development and policy updates.

Required are a Master’s in Library/Information Science (or current enrollment) and at least 2 years of reference experience in a federal or special library. Strong research and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library/Information Science or active enrollment in such a program.
• Minimum 2 years of reference and research experience in a special or federal library.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference services to patrons via in-person, phone, email, or remote channels.
• Offer desk coverage and assist with reference and research during designated hours.
• Participate in collection development, selecting and weeding materials as needed.
• Collaborate on bibliometrics, internal content, and policy updates.
• Conduct literature searches and respond to complex inquiries.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the project manager.
