Job summary

Veracity is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a part-time, hybrid basis in Utah. You will ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing, review timecards, and handle deductions while complying with federal, state, and local regulations.

The role requires collaboration with HR and Finance to maintain accuracy and confidentiality. You will support year-end filings, W-2 processing, and audits, using Rippling or other major payroll systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour laws, and tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Review timecards, overtime, PTO, commissions, bonuses, and retro adjustments.
• Handle off-cycle payments, final paychecks, and payroll corrections.
• Maintain payroll records and manage wage garnishments and tax levies.
• Set up withholding and unemployment accounts when employees move or states change.
• Support quarterly and year-end filings, W-2 processing, and agency notices.
• Collaborate with HR/Finance to ensure accurate payroll reporting and audits.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries with accuracy and professionalism.
