Job summary

PACS Group seeks a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage multi-state payroll processing for employees across multiple entities. The role ensures accuracy in hours, overtime, deductions, and benefits while maintaining strict confidentiality.

The position is in-person at PACS Downtown Campus in Salt Lake City, Utah, offering opportunities to collaborate with HR, participate in audits, and implement process improvements in a dynamic healthcare-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role doing multi-state processing.
• CPP or FPC a plus!

Responsibilities

• Review and process bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple entities and states, ensuring accuracy in hours, overtime, bonuses, benefits, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
• Handle payroll-related inquiries from entity payroll coordinators and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with HR to verify accuracy of employee benefits and time-off reporting.
• Prepare and process off-cycle payrolls for terminations and retroactive pay per state rules.
• Support audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Stay current on payroll trends and best practices to improve processes.
• Provide training and support to payroll coordinators across entities.
• Assist with special projects as required.
