Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas (LANWT) seeks a Paralegal (Full-Time) to join our Rural Justice Grant program in Plainview, TX. The role supports attorneys, handles client intake, drafts pleadings, and maintains case files while traveling to courts and community locations as needed.

We value strong organizational and communication skills, bilingual abilities, and the ability to manage an independent caseload in a public-interest environment. Immediate availability preferred.

Qualificações

• Associate's degree and paralegal certification preferred.
• Spanish fluency (verbal and written), preferred.
• Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage an independent caseload and travel occasionally.

Responsabilidades

• Provide paraprofessional legal assistance to eligible clients in civil legal matters under attorney supervision.
• Serve as primary case handler for designated matters, managing a caseload from intake to resolution.
• Conduct client intake, screening, referrals, and maintain accurate electronic case files.
• Assist with case development through client interviews, fact gathering, research, and trauma-informed practices.
• Draft pleadings, orders, correspondence, and other legal documents; file documents and coordinate hearings.
• Travel to courts, agencies, and community locations in support of casework.
