Job summary

Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas seeks a dynamic paralegal to join a public-interest team in a hybrid Texas office. You will manage a caseload under attorney supervision, assist with intake, research, and drafting, and collaborate on outreach and education efforts across multiple civil practice areas.

Qualifications include an associate degree or paralegal certificate, Spanish fluency, and strong organizational and communication skills. Travel and trauma-informed practice are often required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and paralegal certification preferred.
• Spanish fluency (verbal and written) preferred.
• Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with professional interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage an independent caseload under attorney supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide paraprofessional legal assistance to eligible clients in civil matters under attorney supervision.
• Serve as primary case handler for designated matters, managing caseload from intake through resolution.
• Conduct client intake, screening, referrals, and maintain accurate electronic case files.
• Assist with case development through interviews, fact gathering, research and investigation.
• Draft pleadings, orders, and other documents; file documents and coordinate hearings.
• Support attorneys in client representation, outreach, and legal education efforts.
