Job summary

Withum is seeking an Outsourced Accounting Manager in the Boston area to lead a team servicing technology clients within a hybrid work model (3 days in the office). You will oversee AP, payroll, month-end close, journal entries, and audits, while partnering with client leaders to drive financial insights.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance, 5–7+ years in accounting with leadership, and strong Excel/Sage Intacct/QuickBooks/NetSuite skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA preferred and/or MBA equivalent expectations are valued.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated client service experience in outsourced accounting, advisory, public accounting, or consulting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial results to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data validation) and experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, and/or NetSuite.

Responsibilities

• Managing and mentoring a team of professionals; assign work, review deliverables, and support development through coaching and feedback.
• Overseeing accounts payable workflows, including vendor/payments approvals and documentation.
• Reviewing and approving payroll processing and related filings with client HR/payroll providers.
• Leading the month-end close process and maintaining an accurate general ledger.
• Coordinating external reviews and annual financial statement audits; manage auditor requests.
• Strengthening internal controls and streamlining close and reporting processes.
