Job summary

Withum is seeking an Outsourced Accounting Manager to join our growing OASyS team. This hybrid role supports technology clients across offices in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and other locations, supervising staff and senior teammates to deliver high-quality outsourced accounting services.

You will oversee close processes, payroll, AP, and journal entries while partnering with client leadership and ensuring compliance with GAAP. CPA preferred and leadership experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA preferred and/or MBA equivalent.
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership and review responsibilities.
• Demonstrated client service experience with outsourced accounting, advisory, public accounting, or consulting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of professionals; assign work, review deliverables, and coach.
• Oversee accounts payable workflows and vendor/contractor payments documentation.
• Review and approve payroll processing and related filings with client HR/payroll providers.
• Lead month-end close process with journal entries, reconciliations, and GL maintenance.
• Review and approve all proposed journal entries with proper supporting details.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances across accounts.
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance analytics for clients.
• Partner with client leadership as the day-to-day contact; communicate status, risks, recommendations.
• Coordinate external reviews and annual financial statement audits; manage auditor requests.
• Evaluate internal controls and streamline close and reporting; promote best practices across AP, AR, payroll, and GL.
