Job summary

Withum is seeking an Outsourced Accounting Manager to join our OASyS team. You will oversee staff and senior team members servicing technology clients, leading the close process and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Collaboration with client HR/payroll and leadership is essential. The role requires 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, CPA/MBA preferred, and strong communication skills to present results to non-finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA preferred and/or MBA equivalent.
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership and review responsibilities.
• Demonstrated client service experience with outsourced accounting, advisory, public accounting, or consulting.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to present financial results and recommendations to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, and/or NetSuite; strong Excel proficiency.
• Experience with technology clients and understanding of accounting reporting.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, GAAP-based financial statements, account reconciliations, and internal controls; continuous-improvement mindset.
• Proven ability to lead teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Involvement in their community and desire to 'give back'.

Responsibilities

• Managing and mentoring a team of professionals; assign work, review deliverables, and support development through coaching.
• Overseeing accounts payable workflows; review/approval of vendor and contractor payments.
• Reviewing and approving payroll processing and related filings in collaboration with client HR/payroll providers.
• Leading the month-end close process; review journal entries, ensure timely reconciliations, maintain GL.
• Reviewing and approving all proposed journal entries and confirm supporting details.
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving variances (cash, AR, prepaid, fixed assets, accruals).
• Supporting budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance analytics for clients.
• Partnering with client leadership as day-to-day contact; communicate status, risks, and recommendations.
• Coordinating external reviews and annual financial statement audits; manage auditor requests.
• Evaluating and strengthening internal controls; streamline close and reporting; implement best practices across AP, AR, payroll, GL.
