Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking an Outsourced Accounting Manager to lead a team serving technology clients in a hybrid role. This position requires strong accounting expertise, leadership, and client service skills to drive accurate close processes and insightful financial reporting.

You will oversee AP, payroll, GL, and audits, partner with client leadership, and help implement best practices across accounting workflows in a dynamic, growth-focused firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA preferred and/or MBA equivalent.
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial results to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, or NetSuite accounting systems; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of professionals; assign work, review deliverables, and coach for development.
• Oversee accounts payable workflows, including vendor and contractor payments and supporting documentation.
• Review and approve payroll processing in collaboration with client HR/payroll providers.
• Lead month-end close, review journal entries, and ensure timely reconciliations.
• Review and approve journal entries and ensure proper supporting details.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve variances (cash, AR, accruals, etc.).
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance analytics for clients.
