Job summary

OmniRide, a public transportation agency in Prince William County, Virginia, seeks an Outreach and Engagement Specialist to lead community outreach efforts and craft engaging content across digital and traditional channels. The role reports to the Marketing team and supports OmniRide services throughout the service area.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and substantial experience in marketing, communications, public outreach, social media, and content creation, with strong writing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Experience in marketing, communications, public outreach, social media management, and content creation.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Valid Virginia driver's license required.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, or another language commonly spoken within the OmniRide service area, is preferred.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead community outreach events and public engagement activities.
• Create compelling content for social media, websites, newsletters, brochures, and other materials.
• Develop digital content including graphics, short-form videos, photos, stories, reels, and posts highlighting OmniRide services and partnerships.
• Maintain and update website and social media content.
• Collaborate with internal teams on special projects and rider outreach initiatives.
