Salary Range: $72,823.00 To $94,670.00 Annually
Initiates and participates in community outreach, engages the general public and specific target audiences to introduce and educate about the agency’s services. Performs intermediate technical work composing and distributing customer and general public communications, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Marketing Director.

Plans, coordinates, and conducts community outreach activities to educate residents, employers, schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders about OmniRide services and programs.
Develops general public communications, that may include newsletters, articles, and any other written materials that promote OmniRide services, events, and community partnerships.
Revises schedule brochures, including proofing and coordination with Planning and Operations team.
Prepares and conducts special projects, expanding outreach to potential new riders, outreach/publicity for all OmniRide services.
Builds out event calendar and participates in community outreach events and public engagement activities.
Identifies and maintains relationships with community members and stakeholders to increase brand awareness.
Expand the Ride-Along and Travel Training Program throughout the community and in designated service areas to increase ridership. Develop written communications, including presentations, short-form videos emails, flyers and brochures that highlight OmniRide services and community involvement.
Collaborate with internal teams on special projects and rider outreach initiatives.
Performs related work as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Customer Service, Public Relations, Education, or a related field, and considerable experience in communications, presentations, articles and newsletters, public and community outreach, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Ability to work unconventional hours including occasional early mornings, nights, and weekends.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to multitask and prioritize workload; ability to troubleshoot and develop basic websites/digital solutions; ability to edit efficiently and accurately; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with business and community leaders, executive management, other departments, outside agencies, and the general public. Strong organization, editing, and communication skills. Ability to work independently with moderate guidance, integrating team and company-wide goals in everyday activities.
This position consists of a combination of office and field-based work, with approximately 50% of time spent in the field supporting community outreach, recruitment, and engagement events. Work is mostly sedentary when performed in an office environment and requires little exertion of force, with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds, including event-related equipment such as tents, tables, tent weights, displays, and other materials. Work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, and using hands to finger, handle, or feel; frequently requires repetitive motions; and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms, and pushing or pulling. The position may require prolonged standing and walking at events for extended periods. Standard vision requirements apply. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities. Field work and events may occur indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation. Work is generally performed in moderately noisy environments, such as business offices, community venues, outdoor events, and areas with light to moderate traffic. The position requires working evenings and weekends.
