Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. is seeking an Operations Accountant (SGL15) for a hybrid role that can be based in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Maine. You will apply accounting principles to record financial information and generate reports for Summit Utilities and its subsidiaries.

Key duties include handling journal entries, month-end close, account analysis, and audits. A Bachelor’s in accounting and at least 3 years of experience are required, with Excel proficiency and familiarity with GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Regulated utility accounting experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and complete standard and complex journal entries for payroll and expenses.
• Close month-end per the close calendar and meet deadlines for entries.
• Perform trend analysis on accounts and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Assist in annual audits and respond to auditors’ questions.
• Collaborate with State Ops and FP&A on coding and research.
