Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. is seeking an Operations Accountant (SGL15) for a hybrid role that may be based out of any office in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Maine. You will apply accounting principles to record financial information and prepare reports for Summit Utilities, Inc.

and subsidiaries. The role supports month-end close, audits, and internal controls. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 3 years of accounting experience are required, with Excel proficiency essential for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required.
• Regulated utility accounting a plus.
• Proficiency in the use of Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and enter standard and complex journal entries for month-end close.
• Prepare entries according to close calendar deadlines.
• Perform trend analysis on accounts and reconcile balance sheets monthly.
• Assist in audits and respond to auditors’ questions.
• Collaborate with State Ops and FP&A on coding and research.
• Support special projects and process improvements.
