Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. seeks an Operations Accountant (SGL15) for a hybrid role that may be based out of any of our office locations in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Maine. You will support the month-end close, prepare journal entries, and deliver accurate financial reporting.

You will analyze accounts, reconcile balances, participate in audits, and drive process improvements while collaborating with FP&A and state operations. Strong Excel proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and complete journal entries for payroll and expenses.
• Prepare entries by close calendar deadlines.
• Perform trend analysis on assigned accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Assist with process improvements and implement ideas.
• Support annual audit with PBC schedules and GAAP compliance.
