Job summary

Summit Utilities is seeking an Operations Accountant (SGL15) for a hybrid role based in AR, MO, OK, or ME. The position supports month-end close, journal entries, GAAP compliance, and audit readiness while collaborating with State Ops and FP&A teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting and at least 3 years of accounting experience, with Excel proficiency and utility accounting experience a plus. Flexible locations and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required.
• Regulated utility accounting a plus.
• Proficiency in the use of Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and complete standard and complex journal entries for payroll and expenses.
• Prepare entries in accordance with the close calendar deadlines.
• Perform trend analysis on assigned accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Identify process improvements and support implementation.
• Prepare work for management review and inquiries.
• Collaborate with State Ops and FP&A on coding and questions.
• Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Assist in annual audits and complete PBC schedules on time.
