Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. is seeking an Operations Accountant (SGL15) for a hybrid role based out of our offices in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Maine. This position records financial information and prepares reports for Summit and subsidiaries.

Key duties include month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, trend analysis, and supporting audits. Bachelor's in accounting with 3+ years of experience and Excel proficiency are required; regulated utility experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required.
• Regulated utility accounting a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and complete journal entries for month-end close.
• Prepare entries by deadlines per close calendar.
• Perform trend analysis on assigned accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Initiate improvements and help implement them.
• Prepare work for management review and audit readiness.
• Assist in audits and respond to auditors' questions.
• Collaborate with State Ops and FP&A on coding and research.
• Work on special projects to drive initiatives to completion.
