Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Coding Analyst to join the Texas Oncology team in Richardson, TX. This full-time hybrid role will support the Charge Corrections Department and requires strong medical coding experience in an oncology setting.

Under limited supervision, you will assign and correct codes (CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10) for patient accounts, ensure claim accuracy, and adhere to compliance standards. This position is level 1 based on experience and details provided by the posting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AAPC Certified Professional Coder Exam required.
• Minimum three years medical coding experience required.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.
• Prior oncology experience preferred.
• Prior medical billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review requests for coding changes (CPT/HCPCS, diagnosis, modifiers, place of service, authorizations, UOM, MUE, NDC) based on payer denials.
• Abstract clinical information from medical records to assign ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes per guidelines.
• Review and correct coding errors post-claim processing/denial and refile corrected claims.
• Use LCD/NCD policies to ensure accurate coding for CMS region.
• Utilize coding tools such as Optum Encoder and CMS guidelines.
• Achieve coding accuracy of 95% or higher based on QA reviews.
