Job summary

Atrium Staffing LLC is recruiting for Senior Backend Software Engineers in New York City. The role focuses on owning backend services, API-driven development, and scalable platform architecture for a growing hospitality marketplace.

You will build APIs for partners and AI agents, integrate with third-party systems, and collaborate with engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance systems while growing toward Staff-level influence.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, backend-focused.
• Proven ability to design, build, and deploy complex backend systems.
• Experience developing external-facing APIs and integrating with third-party platforms.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and backend architecture.
• Hands-on coding with technical ownership and architectural judgment.
• Ability to work onsite in New York City four days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for a growing hospitality marketplace.
• Build and maintain external-facing APIs for distribution partners and AI agents.
• Develop integrations for pricing, reservations, bookings, modifications, and cancellations.
• Design reliable transactional systems ensuring data integrity and consistency.
• Own API design, backend architecture, and day-to-day technical decisions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on foundational architecture and long-term scalability.
• Model relational data for existing and new product categories including events and F&B.
• Establish reusable engineering patterns to support partner integrations.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Write, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality production code.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and engineering efficiency.
