Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health invites applications for a part-time Nutrition Educator with the North Central Health District's WIC program. You will join a dedicated team protecting the health of Georgians, delivering nutrition education, counseling, and community-based programs across the Jasper County area.

The role offers a meaningful schedule with two weekly days (Mon and Thu), transitioning to a hybrid/remote Monday and onsite Thursday after probation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in dietetics or related field with verification
• Current Georgia license to practice as a registered nurse (RN)
• Active enrollment in a graduate-level nutrition program

Responsibilities

• Promote and improve community health by supporting healthy behaviors.
• Collect and analyze data to identify community nutrition needs.
• Assess nutritional status of women, infants, and children from records and questionnaires.
• Provide counseling and care plans for high-risk individuals.
• Record SOAP notes in the EMR and coordinate care with providers.
• Promote breastfeeding and share nutrition education resources.
• Teach group nutrition education classes as needed.
