Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a graduate-level nutrition program.
• Verification statement required for credential; transcripts may be requested.
• ACEND-accredited didactic program verification required or related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assess nutritional status and needs using records and questionnaires.
• Provide counseling and develop care plans for women, infants, and children.
• Use Motivational Interviewing to help clients set goals for change.
• Document SOAP notes in electronic medical records.
• Coordinate referrals with health providers and community agencies.
• Promote breastfeeding and share nutrition education resources.
• Teach group nutrition education classes as needed.
• Adhere to all relevant policies and regulations.
