Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Director of North America Benefits to own the strategic direction of US/Canada retirement, health and welfare programs, and related wellbeing initiatives. You will lead a team of benefits managers and analysts, collaborate with Reward, HR, and business leaders to design, optimize and deliver programs that attract and retain talent while maximizing value.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a benefits-focused role with leadership experience.
• Experience across US/Canada retirement, health, welfare, and policies.
• Proven hiring, performance management and compensation decision experience.
• Strong knowledge of IRS, DOL, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and FMLA regulation, and Canadian equivalents.
• Strong financial and quantitative skills with data-driven insight.
• Ability to build business cases and write committee papers.
• Ability to influence across HR and business without formal authority.
• Comfort with technology and delivering benefits via digital platforms.
• An effective communicator with a service orientation toward employees.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design, implementation and delivery of competitive, cost-efficient benefit programs for the US and Canada.
• Lead a team of benefits managers and analysts across the US and Canada end to end.
• Oversee compliance and governance of NA benefit plans and serve as plan fiduciary.
• Lead contract negotiations with Sourcing and brokers for favorable terms.
• Develop data-driven proposals and measure benefits spend efficiency.
• Own the NA benefits communications strategy and user experience.
