Job summary

Spectrum Brands is seeking a New Product Industrial Designer for its Home & Garden R&D team. The role translates consumer needs into innovative, consumer-focused products, collaborating with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing to prototype and test concepts.

The designer will apply advanced design-for-manufacturing knowledge, develop ergonomic concepts, and drive rapid iteration from concept to prototype, with relocation support for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design.
• 4+ years in industrial design.
• 3+ years in hard goods design execution.
• Proficiency in Acrobat Pro, SolidWorks (or other 3D modeling), Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), PowerPoint.
• Experience in consumer-packaged goods preferred.
• Portfolio showing design expertise and prototyping.
• Knowledge of materials for hard and packaged goods production.

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts with focus on ergonomics, form, and function.
• Leverage software to create 3D models and renderings (2D/3D).
• Develop quick physical form studies and prototypes in rapid prototyping lab.
• Model, prototype, and test looks-like and functional prototypes.
• Collaborate with Marketing, NPD, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to drive innovation.
• Assist in maintaining prototype machinery and rapid prototyping equipment.
• Incorporate new capabilities in AI-driven development.
