Job summary

Spectrum Brands’ Home & Garden division seeks a New Product Industrial Designer to translate consumer needs into innovative hard-goods delivery systems. Based in Earth City, MO, this hybrid role collaborates with engineering, marketing, manufacturing and other R&D functions to prototype at every stage of development.

You bring a bachelor’s in Industrial Design and 4+ years of hands-on design experience with SolidWorks, Keyshot and PLM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and 4+ years in industrial design.
• Experience in hard goods design execution (3+ years).
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, Siemens NX).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking and prototyping.
• Knowledge of materials used for hard goods production.

Responsibilities

• Translate consumer needs into innovative product concepts.
• Collaborate with Marketing, New Product Development, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
• Develop concepts focusing on ergonomics, form, and function.
• Create 2D/3D renderings and physical prototypes.
• Prototype, test, and iterate rapidly using our lab equipment.
• Support design-for-manufacturing and engage with suppliers.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and bring AI-driven ideas.
• Maintain CAD documentation and manage version control.
