Job summary

Spectrum Brands’ Home & Garden division is seeking a New Product Industrial Designer in Earth City, MO. You will translate consumer desires into new delivery systems and devices, collaborating with engineering, marketing, manufacturing and other R&D functions to design and prototype innovative products.

The role demands strong technical design background, CAD and rapid prototyping expertise, and a passion for consumer-packaged goods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design.
• 4+ years in industrial design.
• 3+ years in hard goods design execution.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint.
• Experience in consumer-packaged goods preferred.
• Portfolio showcases design expertise with iterative development.
• Knowledge of materials used for hard goods production.
• Advanced knowledge of design-for-manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Translate consumers' desires into new products and experiences.
• Work with Marketing, New Product Development, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to develop opportunities.
• Create design concepts focused on ergonomics, form and function.
• Develop quick physical prototypes and 3D renderings; iterate rapidly.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering on manufacturability.
