Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Network Specialist 1 to support statewide infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity across agencies. You will assist with administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network services and work with staff to resolve issues efficiently.

You will participate in remote testing of routers and switches, monitor network alerts, and coordinate with vendors to ensure SLAs are met.

Qualifications

One year as IT Trainee or IT Technician or equivalent.
Successful completion of the Information Technology Intern – Bachelor Program.
Three years of IT support in a network environment.
One year of IT support with an associate's degree in IT.
An equivalent combination of experience and training including one year IT support.

Responsibilities

Provide connectivity assistance, remote troubleshooting, and coordination with agency staff.
Handle incidents, problems, and requests through the centralized system and coordinate resolutions.
Remote testing and analysis of routers, switches, and circuits to identify and resolve issues.
Monitor alerts and network behavior using Commonwealth systems and suggest improvements.
Liaise with technical vendors to ensure service levels and maintenance activities.
Create and update technical network documentation.
