Job summary

Cognizant in Hartford, CT is seeking a Software Engineer - .NET & Java with 4 to 6 years of experience to design, develop, and support enterprise-scale applications in the Healthcare Provider domain.

You will build secure, scalable backend services and APIs, collaborate with product owners and QA, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while ensuring compliance. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with 3-4 days in a client office in Hartford.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of hands-on software development experience with strong expertise in .NET Framework/.NET Core and Java technologies.
• Proven experience developing enterprise applications within the Healthcare Provider domain, including provider enrollment, credentialing, provider management, or data management solutions.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, application design patterns, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL development, query optimization, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable applications using .NET and Java to support provider domain business processes and operational needs.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and system integrations that enable accurate and efficient exchange of provider data across enterprise platforms.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to translate provider requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Optimize application performance through troubleshooting, refactoring, code reviews, and implementation of best practices in software development.
• Support CI/CD processes, testing activities, and production deployments while ensuring application reliability, security, and compliance.
