Job summary

Trueline's client, one of the largest builders in the country, seeks an MEP Preconstruction Manager (Design Phase Manager) to join their Minneapolis, MN team on a hybrid schedule.

You will lead the design phase on complex commercial projects, owning MEP estimating, designer and trade partner selection, scheduling, design development, and commissioning planning, with base salaries reaching $170,300 in Minneapolis and up to $187,300 in select markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Architecture, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of construction experience.
• 5+ years estimating or on-site project management, including 1-2 years as Preconstruction Manager.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems.
• Strong leadership with ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% and work in office Tue-Thu when not traveling.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design phase for concurrent commercial projects, including estimating, designer selection, scheduling, design development, and commissioning planning.
• Collaborate with owners to define expectations and success factors during design.
• Facilitate designer solicitation, contracting, and design-build processes.
• Develop and lead preparation and presentation of project proposals.
• Create detailed design-phase and baseline construction schedules.
• Lead lean design delivery, BIM/VDC usage, and construction planning.
