Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Billing Specialist for a hybrid remote role in the Regional Campus Business Office. You will maintain patient billing accounts, handle registration and insurance follow-up, and post payments while upholding HIPAA and institutional guidelines.

You will communicate with carriers and patients, resolve claim issues, and help ensure timely reimbursement and compliant revenue cycle operations through collaboration with internal teams.

Formación

• Two years of medical or general office experience OR completion of related education and one year of experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with healthcare accounts receivable, claim follow-up, and reimbursement recovery preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain patient billing accounts and related billing tasks.
• Contact insurance carriers, patients, and employers to obtain claim status and update records.
• Process, submit, and rebill claims electronically when possible.
• Review and resolve billing inquiries, denials, and appeals for timely reimbursement.
• Reconcile daily batches and ensure billing accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate billing updates and process changes through SharePoint and management channels.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support revenue cycle operations.
