Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Entry level position with no minimum years in professional or insurance billing.
• Experience in commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement.
• Good computer literacy and math aptitude; able to use 10-key calculator, computer keyboard and basic software incl. Excel/Word/Outlook.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for daily billing of insurance claims and collection activity on payor and self-pay accounts.
• Manage assigned account receivables with appropriate workflow processes for accurate resolution.
• Demonstrates knowledge of third-party carriers; government payors; special programs; and University Health Financial Assistance program.
• Uses electronic systems and maintains high customer service standards; requires independent and critical thinking.
