Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Devon, PA is seeking a Mechanical Technician to inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical production equipment. You will plan and perform maintenance with minimal disruption to production, install and adjust equipment, and interpret detailed drawings to determine materials and methods.

The role requires a high school diploma with mechanical trade training preferred, plus experience with welding, fabrication, piping and general maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; mechanical trade school certification desirable.
• Experience inspecting, maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and maintenance documentation.
• Working knowledge of welding, fabrication, piping and general maintenance practices.
• Experience operating machine tools and maintenance-related equipment safely.
• Ability to operate forklifts, aerial scissor lifts and boom lifts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical production equipment to support safe and reliable operations.
• Plan and complete maintenance activities while minimizing disruption to production.
• Install, assemble, lubricate and adjust equipment to maintain efficient performance.
• Interpret drawings and technical sketches to determine materials, tools and repair methods.
• Carry out minor fabrication, welding, pipework and equipment modification activities as required.
• Maintain operating records and support the upkeep of plant utilities and facility equipment.
