Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Devon, PA is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support safe, reliable operations by inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical production equipment.

You'll plan maintenance, install and adjust equipment, interpret drawings, and perform minor fabrication. Eligible candidates have a high school diploma and mechanical trade training; forklift/Air-lift skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; mechanical trade school certification desirable.
• Experience inspecting, maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and maintenance documentation.
• Welding, fabrication, piping and general maintenance knowledge.
• Experience operating machine tools and maintenance-related equipment safely.
• Ability to operate forklifts, aerial scissor lifts and boom lifts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical production equipment to support safe and reliable operations.
• Plan and complete maintenance activities while minimizing disruption to production.
• Install, assemble, lubricate and adjust equipment to maintain efficient performance.
• Interpret drawings and technical sketches to determine materials, tools and repair methods.
• Carry out minor fabrication, welding, pipework and equipment modification activities as required.
• Maintain operating records and support the upkeep of plant utilities and facility equipment.
