Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Devon, PA is seeking a Maintenance Shift Supervisor to lead maintenance teams, ensure safe operation of plant equipment, and coordinate activities with internal stakeholders to meet priorities and service levels.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on mechanical/electrical maintenance knowledge, and experience in manufacturing. Johnson Matthey offers hybrid work, comprehensive benefits including health, retirement plans, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent maintenance/supervisory experience.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Practical mechanical and/or electrical maintenance knowledge.
Strong leadership skills and ability to coach maintenance staff.
Proficiency with Windows and Office applications.
Experience with SAP, CMMS and unionized workforces is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance teams to safely maintain plant equipment, facilities and utilities per safety procedures.
Coordinate maintenance activities with internal stakeholders to meet priorities and service levels.
Assign work, provide technical guidance and support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Support preventive maintenance, repairs, shutdowns and project execution for reliability.
Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and raise standards.
Promote engagement and adherence to union agreements.
