Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support piping and HVAC layout, seismic assessments, and fuel handling design for nuclear projects. The role is hybrid with on-site 2 days per week at Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC, reporting to the Manager, Plant Engineering.

You will collaborate across teams, read drawings, use 3D design tools, and ensure compliance with customer contracts and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work remotely and on customer sites globally.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or Professional Engineering licensure (PE) beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work on teams that support design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear and non-nuclear projects.
• Perform physical arrangement of nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and support using 3D design software.
• Perform hazards evaluations with 3D plant models and analysis software.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and criteria documents.
• Work with the Westinghouse WNEXUS design architecture to author, review and verify engineering designs.
• Help prepare reports to satisfy regulatory, code, and customer contract requirements.
• Provide engineering support to design, fabrication, and construction organizations including responding to RFIs and coordinating with global locations.
