Job summary

Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is seeking a Materials Engineer to collaborate with the Landing Systems Materials team. The role supports manufacturing, regulatory tasks, supplier interactions, and new product introductions while aligning with engineering and quality requirements.

The position sits in Aguadilla, PR, with a hybrid work setup (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 tools.
• Familiarity with REACh, Teamcenter, ViCi, and CAD materials annotations.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing planning reviews, work transfers, customer requests, work packages, and process troubleshooting.
• Perform specification decomposition and part decomposition activities.
• Ensure compliance with global materials regulations, including REACh and TSCA.
• Conduct Materials of Concern (MOC) analysis.
• Assist with MPS review activities, including documentation evaluations and supplier processes such as forging, machining, heat treatment, plating, and coating.
• Support Materials Control Board (MCB) by evaluating material discrepancies and input for decisions.
• Prepare, review, and approve engineering procedures and technical documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary problem-solving teams using RRCA techniques.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers, and customers to support product and process improvements.
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams, partners, and customers.
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
