Job summary

Metallus Inc. is seeking a Plant Cost Accounting Lead to act as the primary financial business partner to the Plant Manager and Controller. You will manage month-end close, cost accounting, and financial analysis to support operational improvements.

You will oversee capital project spend, depreciation forecasting, and internal controls, ensuring accurate reporting and SOX compliance while driving efficiency and data-driven decision making at the Canton plant.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related with at least 2 years experience in US GAAP accounting and cost analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related with no experience.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, or Business with 4+ years of cost accounting/financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and analyze manufacturing variances.
• Oversee capital project spend analysis, forecasting and compliance.
• Develop depreciation forecasts and plant reporting.
• Lead SOX testing and internal controls self-assessment.
• Analyze plant financial results and explain variances to management.
• Support plant checkbook oversight and IRU reporting.
• Participate in inventory counts and audit activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting and finance processes.
