Job summary

Metallus in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Cost Analyst to maintain costing systems, analyze variances, and support budgeting and reporting across manufacturing operations.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to ensure accurate cost data, drive process improvements, and support audits. The role includes monthly closings, journal entries, and producing cost reports for management.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, math, or business with at least 4 years of manufacturing exp.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, math, or business with 2+ years of manufacturing or cost accounting exp.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Metallus costing system, driving process improvements and ensuring accurate, reliable cost data across products and operations.
• Perform costing setup for new parts and operations, partnering with Operations and Engineering to ensure timely system integration.
• Collaborate with various departments to establish and maintain cost standards for budgeting and forecasting.
• Analyze production costs and variances, providing actionable insights for operations and finance.
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly and ad hoc cost reports for management review.
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support quarterly and annual internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
