Job summary

Metallus in Canton, OH is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as the primary financial business partner to the Plant Manager and Controller, overseeing cost accounting, financial reporting, and operational analysis for the Harrison plant.

The role involves month-end close leadership, capital project oversight, depreciation forecasting, internal controls (SOX), and driving continuous improvement across finance workstreams to support data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related with at least 2 years experience in US GAAP accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related with no experience.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, or Business with at least 4 years experience in US GAAP accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, or Business with at least 2 years experience in US GAAP accounting, cost accounting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and analyze variances for management.
• Oversee capital projects: spend analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
• Develop depreciation forecast and financial reporting tools for plant performance.
• Lead SOX control testing and documentation to ensure compliance.
• Support IRU reporting and inventory-related accounting activities.
• Coordinate physical inventory counts and reconcile accounts.
• Ensure timely reconciliations and accurate fixed assets records.
• Assist in continuous improvement of accounting and finance workflows.
