Job summary

Special Metals Corp seeks a hands-on Plant Controller for the New Hartford plant to lead accounting and finance, ensuring accurate financial statements and strong internal controls. You will drive cost savings, manage the annual budget, and oversee forecasting in a global multi-site manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include monthly close ownership, product costing, margin analysis, and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead all plant accounting and controlling activities with Plant Manager and site leadership.
• Own monthly close for the plant and maintain P&L and balance sheet integrity.
• Maintain a robust cost accounting environment including product costing and inventory valuation.
• Drive cost reduction and productivity initiatives with cross-functional teams.
• Lead annual budget process and ongoing forecasting (labor/overhead, sales/volume, expenses).
• Prepare and present operating reviews, KPIs, and financial narratives for leadership.
