Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an engineer to join an agile team that designs and implements standardized machining solutions for powertrain components. You will influence process design, layout, ergonomics, safety, and productivity while collaborating with OEMs, production teams, launch, gauging, tooling, and controls across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 1+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience.
• Working knowledge of GD&T; reading engineering drawings.
• Strong communication skills and cross-functional teamwork.
• Strong organization skills to handle complex projects.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Proven record of customer-focused work.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of machining systems for new powertrain programs in Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario, Canada.
• Utilize machining process knowledge to optimize quality, costs, timing, and footprint.
• Support equipment installation, run capability, and handover to powertrain plants.
• Initiate bids, evaluate bids, and work with Purchasing to place orders.
• Collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, Product, and Plant engineering to resolve issues.
• Coordinate facilities, safety, ergonomics, material handling & kitting, tooling, and gauging.
• Support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis with IE to improve throughput.
• Travel up to 50% in support of projects with OEMs and suppliers.
